Black Tactics: Simple Blackjack Tips
Not only is blackjack considered as the oldest known card game, it is also regarded as one of the most rewarding, although there are many losing players who would dispute this fact. The problem is that most of these players rely solely on luck to get by, but even a game of chance cannot be won by chance alone.
The game of blackjack is said to be more advantageous to the dealer since the player loses if both of them go over 21. On the other hand, there are still many players who win the game despite this. As in any game, strategy is the key.
There are certain details many people take for granted that they should in fact take note of when playing blackjack. For instance, the blackjack table that one opts to play in may affect the result of a game. It is advisable that one plays at a table where it is permitted to double down on any two cards, and where the decisions of the dealer are restricted to a certain degree.
One should also take special notice of the doubling down feature offered in many land-based as well as online casinos. This would be helpful in giving one the opportunity to double winnings by doubling their bet and receiving an extra card when convinced of the strength of their hand.
Regardless of what the dealer's showing card turns out to be, one should refrain from splitting 10's on one hand and should split the 8's and aces on another hand. And unless one is counting cards, it is wise to not take insurance, but one should still be cautious as this is not always a secure technique.
Standing on a hard 13-16 is recommended if the dealer's showing card is lower than 6, but one should hit if the showing card is higher than 7. One should also continue to hit until they reach 17 if the dealer's face-up card is a 10. If one's hand is greater than 11, it is advisable to stand if the dealer has a 4, 5 or 6.
It is permissible and suggested to split two cards having the same numerical value, double the starting bet and play two individual hands. This rule does not apply to 5's, 10's and face cards.
Beating the house is a matter of careful planning and common sense as well as luck. By applying some basic blackjack strategies, one can turn the odds to their advantage.
